Before you fill out your character profile, here's a few last minute things to know:
- Read the Setting and Rules sections before writing your character. This can't be emphasized enough. We can not approve characters who are inconsistent with the game's setting and rules, so it's your responsibility to inform yourself by reading the Setting and Rules as closely as possible. If you still have any questions after that, please don't hesitate to contact us.
- If you haven't done so already, see the Connect page for how to get to our IRC room.
- Save a text file copy of your character form before submitting!!! In the off-chance that something goes wrong with your submission process, you'll want to have a backup copy. Nothing's worse than losing a character form you put lots of time and effort into!
- Once you receive an email reply stating that your character is approved, you may then RP. If you don't get a reply within a week or so, contact us and let us know. Sometimes we do miss a form or two.
- The more detail you can write, the better. You don't need to be an expert writer or create a novel-length character profile, but we do need you to demonstrate in your character profile that you've read the website enough to have at least some understanding of City Of Unity's setting. Just cover all the basics, like what he or she looks like, how they dress, what a basic idea of their personality is like, how they're affected by the city's social climate, and how they came to be where they are today in Einheit City.
- When your character is approved, you may post the profile on the New Characters subforum, or wait for Sulaco to do it. This is where newly-approved characters are stored until they are added to the website.
- Characters who get approved yet are rarely/never played usually don't get put on the website. Since it's a waste of space to post profiles of characters that are never played, we simply don't bother HTMLing the forms of unplayed characters most the time, since it's a waste of time and energy. Unplayed characters will be stored on the Inactive Characters subforum until their players RP them more. So if you want your character to get on the website for everyone to see, then get online and RP already!
- To update or change your character profile anytime, go to this forum and post the updated profile there.
