Physical Description: Vigil is toned, with the strong, bulky forearms and feet of a feline. Head is canine, aside from ears, and tail is long and tapered at the end. Near black fur is prominent with black fur on the tips of his ears, elbows, between the collarbones, on the jaw line, headfur, and on the tip of his tail. Eyes are yellow and feline. In his previous life he was previously injured during an attempted assassination back when a purebred, leaving a large scar across the left pectoral and a scar on his right thigh, and has a scar on his stomach. Generally wears whites and grays in terms of clothing. He wears a steel-blue earring on his left ear. Has an white armguard for the right arm. Commonly seen with hair worn tied back.
Background: At an early age as a purebred, Vigil had already seen death in his family. His father was tortured, then murdered in front of his very eyes by the Futeki, a reptilian yakuza clan; His mother at night, stabbed in her sleep by an unknown assailant. He was forced to live on the streets of the Undercity, with no family or friends, and began a life of petty thievery. He later became noticed by a feline named Nassat, who practiced a code of honor, along with his higher ranking members, unlike most other underlords, who led another Yakuza, known as Menboku. He started off earning his share as a thief, steadily gaining rank. His contracts eventually entitled murder, and the likes, becoming an assassin, and after not a terrible time, the right hand hit man of Nassat. He worked for the old man until the age of 22, when upon returning to the underlord’s home, found quite simply a bloody mess in place of his master, whom he had developed a certain bond with much like a step-father. A note was left on his body with the symbol of the Futeki…the same group that destroyed his previous life. He vowed revenge, eliminating each member one by one, an intense hatred burning in Ardus until even the women and children were dead. As one of last surviving member of the Menboku clan, single handedly defeating the entire (or so was thought) Futeki clan, he gained a fair amount of respect among the rest of the undercity gangs. Though this glory perished with time, the Menboku symbol is still a mark of respect some areas of the undercity.
Vigil later picked up work as a PI and Security Systems Specialist, although this line of work eventually started to fail once the inflation caused by the closing of the Vorhang hit. Even though he had almost always been somewhat pro-Unity from the day his parents were murdered, this was the main driving factor that caused him to look toward Unity for guidance, and a better life, leading to his hybridization and leaving behind his purebred life.
Personality: Vigil is now a fairly happy man, renewed in mind and body by the joy of Unity, and a typical hybridization success story. Vigil is now less prone to withdrawal, and more socially driven. Although he still listens to classical music rather than the loud, blaring music of the times. If venturing too far from the Toride, he prefers to conceal himself with a black cloak.
