Physical Description:
Varen is a rather lanky fellow. He is covered predominantly in grey fur, save for a patch of light tan scales on the top side of each forearm and a larger swath that runs from his neck, to his chest, to the end of his tail. His tail is long and prehensile, not to mention strong, like that of a snake. It is scaled on the bottom and furry on the top. The hybrid’s muzzle resembles that of a wolf’s, though it is flattened out a little, and widened. His head rides on top of a longer, flexible, neck.

Varen usually wears, for his work clothes anyway, a light-breathable polyfiber top with short sleeves that end around his biceps. He wears a pair of loose shorts as well, which have various pockets in which he keeps small tools, writing utensils, and simple notes. On his hands he wears a pair of work gloves that are cut off at the finger tips to allow a little better dexterity. On his feet he wears a pair of sock-like shoes with a solid, yet flexible sole. The shoes terminate before his toes.

Background:
Varen was born outside of the Toride a few years after Frey’s assassination. His mother is the only parent he’s ever truly had, his father a nameless ‘customer’ of his mother’s former life. The hybrid was raised to be a good citizen, and to this day has been. He was brought up to fear the mid-city by his own mother ( A purebred wolf until genetic re-assignment became available when she elected to mix with sparrow DNA). He was told of the things that happened there, and that he would be best to avoid going into it. Of course, his current curiosity drives him there periodically, and more often than not he can be found in the Niflheim, if he is in the mids.

Currently he is a Toride maintenance worker, one who helps fix any issues within the structure itself from Telescreen malfunctions to minor structural issues. He took the job because he was good at it, and because it was where his education has led him. Varen takes his work rather seriously, and he makes sure to be a prompt and hardworking employee, always on time, always working hard.

Varen sometimes wonders about his past, and about who his father really was, but for now, he remains ignorant of the identity of the man who put him into this world.

Personality:
Quiet and sweet are Varen’s most noticeable attributes. He is generally nice to all people, whether they be outer class or Uniclass. He is not one to generally fraternize with the outers, as they are considered by the ministry, and thus by Varen, a set of people against the Uniclass. Of course, if he needs information, he won’t hesitate to ask an outer. The hybrid is generally soft-spoken and thoughtful; he likes to be a good friend. Sometimes, he will crack a joke, or be one to play with words, an attempt which usually results in a bad pun. Of course, he is not afraid to laugh at himself.

Weapons/Equipment:
- Simple 9mm sidearm, which he is certified and licensed in using. Varen keeps it in his room unless he is heading to the mid-city alone.

- Toolkits. He can usually be found toting some sort of toolkit around, due to the nature of his work. Sometimes they are easy enough to carry in a pocket, other times they are large boxes filled with large tools.

- Datapad. Varen carries this with him to keep track of jobs in the Toride and events in his personal life. It is mainly a calendar, and he can also use it for message sending.
