Death: Like many young UniClass hybrids, Seren Mantle held dreams of somenight enlisting with the Ministry for a life of glory and action, and for a time befriended Minister Agni Vasudev, who became sort of a mentoring figure to him, encouraging him on his path to serving the city.
Sadly, these dreams would never come to pass. On the night of September 1st, 31 ECE, Seren was aboard a public transit airship on one of his frequent MidCity explorations when Ministry searchlights lit the sky, accompanied by the wail of air raid sirens. Howler rockets, allegedly launched by the supposed Nightlander Siege, streaked overhead as Ministry anti-missile flak filled the sky. Seren became one of the few and far between UniClass casualties to the Nightlander Siege when the MidCity airship he was a passenger on was struck by a Howler missile, sinking it from the sky to slam into the side of a skyscraper slum in a horrific symphony of fire and wreckage.
Although several dozen purebreds also aboard the ship and at the crash site also died, Seren's death was the only one given any true attention by the media, and served as a useful propaganda tool to reaffirm UniClass support for the Ministry's campaign against the Nightlanders.

Physical Description: This young hybrid shows signs of his heritage in his features. His glossy coat is light brown in colour, fading to a creamy shade as it nears his stomach. His upper chest, back, and arms are covered in white downy feathers, which also move up the back of his neck and down his spine to the tip of his thick otter-like tail. The feathers on his arms are a bit longer, forming what look somewhat like a pair of useless wings. His fingers and toes are tipped in dull black claws, the space between each lined with a slight webbing. His most distinguishing feature are the black and white badger stripes upon his stubby otter-shaped face, spanning back over his head into a black cap of feathers that are constantly ruffled to look like spikes of head fur. His genes seem to have skipped a generation, a throwback to his otter ancestry giving him a slender, streamlined body.
His clothes reflect the sort of tough-guy persona he likes to put on, his lower half covered in snow camo cargo pants. His feet are kept warm by a pair of high quality black slip resistant boots, a gift from his parents shortly after they attained uniclass status. His torso is covered by a vest, a very intricate design on the front leaving a hole in the center in the shape of a diamond. A couple pockets on the front and straps on either side make it look much like a miniature military vest, if it weren't for it's flashy design. Over his vest he wears a gray and black zip up shirt with short sleeves and a hood, which he often leaves open to access the pockets of his vest. On his right arm he wears a bracer, which opens to be a small cross bow.
Background: Originally from the colony of Haligrad, Seren accompanied his parents on a trade mission to an allied city when the Ab-Zero attacks happened. For a year they traveled the nightlands in their transport vehicle, using the cargo of fuel they were supposed to deliver to the other city.
Only recently did they make their way to Einheit. Seren was immediately eligible for uniclass citizenship. His parents, however, had to undergo artificial hybridization, a choice they were reluctant with at first. Though, after having to choose that or have their son taken from them, they were more than happy to turn to unity and go through with the procedure. Seren was a bit shocked at his parents' change, but after a bit of explaining and encouragement from ministry counselors he was able to accept the changes easily.
When tested for placement in school he was noted as having exceptional intelligence, so much so that he was placed a grade higher than he would normally be put in at his age.
Personality: Though he doesn't like to let it show, Seren is very intelligent for his age. He is able to learn things quickly, and comprehend complex (relative to his age) problems and come up with solutions. Despite this he can often be immature, such is the way of being a child.
He likes to put on a tough guy persona, like the troops of his former colony. Now, though, he rather admires the ministry officers, and tries to emulate his idealistic image of them. Though he really cares for others feelings, he doesn't like to show it...At least, not in a way that might be 'unmanly'.
Seren can be quite adventurous, and thus is prone to getting into trouble. He tries to make sure he doesn't get in over his head, because as 'tough' as he sees himself, like any other kid he fears a good scolding from his parents.
Coming to the city has filled him with the urge to explore, and so in his free time he can be seen wandering around Toride or Midcity.
Weapons/Equipment:
- Mini arm crossbow - This normally just looks like a bracer on his forearm, but when a button is pressed on the side it slides up to become a small crossbow. Though it looks fairly harmless due to it's size, the tension in the cord that is it's string is quite high, and so has a built in mechanism to assist him in resetting it. He keeps many small bolts for this weapon in the pockets on his vest. The bow is capable of firing two bolts at once with accuracy.
