Death: Lister Van Zandt, a mystery to those few who knew him, met a fittingly mysterious end while venturing in seldom-walked hollows of the Undercity for reasons unknown. Little did he know, his wanderings took him to far places claimed and protected by unseen guardians; places best left undisturbed. Lister's exploration cost him dearly when he came face to face with The Priory, a cult who's existence depends entirely upon others not knowing of their existence to begin with.

For this reason, Lister became one of the few individuals unfortunate enough to ever discover The Priory, and was killed to ensure that the tale of his discovery would die with him.

Player: ShadowClaw

Character Name: Lister Van Zandt

Age: 28

Sex: Male

Species: Aardwolf

Height/Weight: 5'8 155 lbs

Social Status: Outer Class

Physical Description: At one time this purebred might have been called average, or maybe even handsome by some people. Once upon a time. Now, though, most turn away from him when they catch his eye, his face disfigured, cut in such a way that he has a permanent grin. His lean body is marked with scars of all shapes and sizes in various places, but most of his fur is still intact. This fur is a light brown, marked by horizontal black stripes that wrap around from the center of bis back. His tail is probably the most intact part of him, the large brown appendage accented by bits of gray, capped at the end with black.

Though his body is scarred, it is rarely seen uncovered. He dresses in a very fine way, an expensive looking dark gray suit with pin stripes. Beneath his suit jacket he also wears a vest over his white dress shirt, a shining pattern of dark blue boxes decorating it. Oddly enough, though he is dressed in this manner, his feet are held in what look to be very heavy combat boots.

Background: Lister once worked for a very successful crime family, The Casios. Over his time in their service he slowly rose through the ranks, becoming one of the slightly more important members. Life seemed to be going good for him, much to the dismay of his boss' nephew Jack. He was jealous of Lister's quick advancement in the family, and picked a fight with Lister. A fight that he could not win. Jack went away bruised and beaten with his tail between his legs, running to his uncle about what had happened. Of course, he lied about the circumstances, his uncle becoming enraged at Lister for what he'd done. The boss ordered him to be punished. He was tortured for weeks in many gruesome ways for what he'd done to Jack, his face cut so that he looked like he was smiling. In the end his life was spared, and he was tossed bloody and broken out into the dirty undercity streets, left to die on his own time. But he didn't, he crawled off and found shelter, and by some miracle managed to recover from his injuries...for the most part. After the torture he went through, he never was completely right again. A few months after his removal, the entire Casios family and many of their men were brutally slaughtered at their base, so many body parts strewn about the place it would have been nearly impossible for people to tell what went to who. On top of that, the entire place was torn apart...Few know what happened that night, but one thing is for sure. Lister does.

Personality: Lister is a friendly guy on the outside, and is often sarcastic. On the inside, on the other hand, he is very suspicious of nearly everyone he meets, and is often thinking of a way to get back at them should they decide to do him wrong. He is cunning, and when it comes to things such as quarrels he prefers to use his brain to settle things rather than resorting to violence. Despite this, he is prone to fits of rage, sometimes seemingly at random, and can become very violent. He has been known to hallucinate, though no one can be sure of what he sees, and often becomes violent during these illusions. Because of being tortured, he also has an incredible fear of doctors and the like, and anything that might relate to them.

Weapons/Equipment: A chromed 9mm hand gun, kept in a shoulder harness on his left side, usually concealed by his suit-jacket.

A blade that springs from the toe of his right boot.

A pair of brass knuckles, kept in his pocket and rarely used.
