Species: European rabbit, Elk, Gyrfalcon

Height/Weight: 5'11; 160

Social Status: UniClass

Physical Description:
The fact that Jerint used to be a dark brown and black would come as a suprise to many. Age and stress has caused much of his fur to turn into a peppered silver, his once-black hair thickly streaked with white. He is rather solidly-built for a rabbit, with broad, sloping shoulders and a paunch brought on by age. His hair, though receeded from his forehead, is long, wild, and uncut - sometimes bound back into a ponytail - with various trinkets woven into the thick strands. He has a rather unusual black marking beginning at the tip of his nose, running up his roman muzzle, and coating his ears.

His decisions for the mandatory Uniclass hybridization process was odd. He chose two species instead of just one; an elk stag and a gyrfalcon. A pair of twisted antlers now sweep their way back from his forehead, amidst his receding and tangled hair, his neck covered in longed, patchy fur. White feathers sprout down his back, a pair of misformed wings jutting awkwardly from between his shoulderblades.

He is fairly covered in scars and old wounds. His right eye is missing, obviously having been inexpertly sewn shut; his nose is scarred and crooked; two fingers of his right hand are missing, replaced by a pair of pnumatic-driven and skeletal fingers. His left ear is torn and tattered, halfway missing; his left arm is devoid of fur, the pink-healed skin puckered and pocked by fire-made scars with only the faintest trace of old tattooing visible.

Jerint's attire is opposite of what most of the UniClass wear; perhaps because he spends so much time in the Midcity, where he feels more comfortable. The constants are gloves; he always wears them, whether they be fingerless or full, wool or leather. He also tends to wear head-sleeves, protective coverings that obscure his mutilated eye and scarred face, leaving only his muzzle visible; various beads and trinkets are woven in and left to dangle, like whiskers. He wears a protective sleeve over his burned left arm, made of leather and bronzed metal. His clothing is usually ill-fiting, a few sizes bigger than they should be; over them he wears a large coat of muddied color, looking as if it was made out of carpet.

He is nearly always seen with a little mixed-breed girl named Hope, about five or six years old; pony and bird, from the look of her, though there may be more mixed in. Her fur is a soft, pale-gold; her eyes large, and of a deep blue. She has the pony build and muzzle, with smatterings of small white feathers poking their way up through her skin and a carpeting of feathers down her back. She is shy, never speaking, and sticks close to Jerint wherever he goes.

Background: Though his file officially states his home-city as that of Kyryn Tow, Jerint was initially born into the gypsy trade airship 'Furie's Fate'. When he was still a boy, the airship came under fire by Kyryn Tow forces for the alleged act of Piracy and was taken after a brief - and vicious - struggle. Those aboard who survived the slaughter were taken - the city having been notorious for it's rampant, supposedly-illegal slave trade.

Jerint was far too young to resist, but all throughout his imprisonment he still fought; learning from his mistakes, growing by the day. It was a long time before he managed to escape; a longer time before he found his way to the underground, and it's thriving system of freedom-fighters and revolutionaries. Primarily comprised of hybrids and those 'wild' breeds that the domestics sought to tame, it was a suprise to find a brutal war that raged constantly just outside the electric walls, manicured hydroponic gardens, and mansions that made up Kyryn Tow.

For awhile, Jerint was simply one of the many faceless revolutionaries who fought against the Tow military. But there was an 'incident'; a high-ranking politician, murdered in his own home; a slave, of course, the one to blame. At her execution, it was said that a Man in a red coat suddenly appeared - taking out the entire force in a brief, explosive battle.

It was said that the Man was killed as the last of his foes fell. But months later he again emerged, a seemingly unstoppable force - a hero to the eyes of the Revolution, a demon to the frantic Tow authorities. He became a rallying-point for the revolutionaries, gathering them into one force. Though the Revoltuionaries now had hope, the battle raged on with no end in sight; a prepetual stale-mate that would only be broken by the advent of Einheit City.

When the helicopters came, mass hysteria broke. Men and women by the hundreds nearly swamped the rescue force, children abandoned to be trampled or flung at the rescue 'copters in a vain hope that they would make it aboard before the Tow forces realized what was going on. It wasn't long before they came; flamethrowers arced through the crowds, a few Einheit 'copters blown out of the sky before they managed to retreat, raining flaming debris onto the field of death below.

Two survived that night, to be borne to Einheit; Marivic Kane, a hybrid woman, and her child. It was years before the two recovered from that horrendous night; years more before Kane married and entered politics. She was a well-known advocate of Unity, able to draw upon her experience as a freedom fighter in the depths of Kyryn Tow to add fuel her passionate pleas towards the purebred terrorist groups to end their hatred and destruction, at the same time attempting to protect them from the full fury of the Ministry -  certain that if they were shown understanding, the terrorists would convert themselves. In 28 ECE, She was gunned down by the same purebreds that she was trying to protect.

Of her daughter's origins, Kane would say nothing; of the night of her escape she said less, only telling her husband that it was by the intervention of a Man in a Red Coat that they managed to board the rescue 'copters at all.

Two months after the destruction of the Colonies - including Kyryn Tow - an old, purebred rabbit sought entry not only to Einheit, but to the Toride itself. At first, he claimed to be Marivic Kane's lover, demanding to know where she was; at the news, and what details there were of her death, he then quietly - and adamantly - claimed to be the father of Kane's daughter.

Originally thought to be some sort of grifter grasping for Uniclass status and the privileges it brought, it suprised nearly everyone when DNA tests proved his claim beyond a doubt. After a brief visit with his daughter, it was decided by all parties involved that she remain with Kane's husband. On Febuary 23, 30ECE, Jerint Rou received full UniClass status. Later on when hybridization became mandatory for all UniClass citizens, he, too, complied with this new law and abandoned his purebred heritage once and for all.

Though he lives in the Toride, Jerint makes often excursions into the Midcity; some have accused him of still harboring anti-hybrid sentiments, but Jerint simply seems - in a twisted way - to enjoy the industrial decay that is simply not found in the Toride, prefering surroundings more like that of Kyryn Tow that he's used to than the clean, sterile Toride environment.

It was during one of these extended stays that he found Hope, bringing her back to the Toride in a sorry state. Though she recovered quickly, physically, the girl refused all attempts to aid her, never eating or sleeping. Any attempt to adopt her out - and there were many - had ended in tears and silent refusal. It was sheer despiration that they 'adopted' her out to Jerint; only when he was around would she eat, and the arrangement is seen as simply temporary until the girl recovers from her mental trauma.

Personality: Jerint is an odd case, no matter how you look at him. He is on the whole a quiet man, usually keeping to himself rather than socializing - however, he does not do so to the point of rudeness. Always he maintains an air of polite interest when spoken to, offering what may be his own thoughts on the subject at hand and is - in general - a rather good conversationalist. He does not share much about himself, unless he's directly questioned, and then he answers in an off-handed way.

He does not answer insults, and doesn't seem quick to anger; seems to not, in fact, care much about his own safety - only that of Hope's. If insulted, he is more likely to agree than risk confrontation; if attacked, he will simply allow himself to be attacked. He protects her, though, with a single-minded ferpcity that can only come from an old, combat-scarred warrior.

Jerint does seem a bit shell-shocked, his ears and nose constantly twitching in all directions, sometimes jumping at loud noises or quick-moving shadows. Hope appears to be his balance, in these cases; she will often alert him if someone comes from behind or his blind side, often grasping his hand as it gropes for weapons that no longer rest where they once had. His relationship with Hope is odd; one part of it close father-daughter, the other part that of fellow soliders who had fought together for years. Yet it is clearly filled with mutual affection.
