"The noblest thing you can do is not to save the life of someone who you love, but to save the life of someone who you hate."

Player: Caitrin

Character Name: Caitrin Valent

Age: 19

Sex: Female

Species: 75% Rabbit / 25% Ferret

Height & Weight: 5'4". 111lbs

Social Status: Outer Class

Physical Description:
Caitrin appears to be almost entirely rabbit except for the ferret-like 'mask' on her face, and her long, black-tipped tail, both of which she inherited from her mother. Without those two features, she would easily blend in with her fellow rabbits, with her long, slender ears and a coat of fur that's a 'dirty white' all over, though whether that's actually dirt or just its natural color is a bit up in the air. Her eyes shine a bright bright blue and the glasses which usually are settled just in front of them on her muzzle combined with the slightly unkempt 'mane' of blue-black hair that falls around her face, just to her shoulders gives her something of a 'scientist' look, mad or otherwise remains to be seen.

Her clothing varies depending on what she's out doing. If she's simply going to meet someone, she usually just wears the various bits of normal clothing she's managed to gather up (t-shits and a few pairs of sturdy jeans being most common). When she's actually going to a job, however, she wraps up in her overcoat, under which she can hide the bag of various first aid supplies and some medical tools she has obtained through 'less than legal' means. Unless she's going to be around people she knows and trusts, she hides her tail under her coat to avoid extra trouble. No matter what she has planned, though, she never goes anywhere without her glasses if she can help it, needing all of her senses to be at their best in the dangerous places she treads.

Background:
Caitrin was born as the pride and joy of her parents, who had both always wanted a little girl and hoped to give her an even better life than they had known, thanks to her mixed heritage. Unfortunately, Caitrin was born too close to being a pure rabbit to be labeled a true hybrid, which meant that none of the family qualified for UniClass status, and while that may not have caused any real detriment to them in the early years, it wasn't long before growing tensions in the city started to really affect their lives. Her parents supported the idea that everyone should come together in mutual support and care for eachother, but did not believe that one had to be a hybrid to do so, and this belief quickly rubbed off on Caitrin. This belief only grew stronger as the Ministry's actions grew closer and closer to real terror tactics while most of the Outer Class simply seemed to be trying to live their lives.

By 23 ECE, Caitrin's parents had taken a sudden interest in teaching Caitrin things they felt she would need to know in what they believed to be a dark time coming. First aid and reading were heavily focused on, so she would be able to read and understand labels and books as well as be able to patch herself, or others, up if the need came up. It was daunting work for one so young, but she dedicated herself to it to please her parents, trusting their judgement. Hardly a month after Caitrin's seventeenth birthday, the skills she had worked hard to develop were put to use after the horrifying Colony attack on Einheit, and while the girl was hard at work patching up the wounded and caring for the dying with many other similarly skilled people, her parents both joined the thousands of others killed in the attack. It took several days for someone to inform her they had died due to the sheer number.

Despite being trained to be able to survive on her own, Caitrin wasn't at all mentally prepared to have it come so soon, or so suddenly. She stayed with some friends of the family for a few months, trying to pull herself back together as the city spiraled the drain, and she helped keep them healthy while they showed her some of the ins and outs of scavenging to make money, reasoning that bandaging someone from time to time wouldn't keep the stomach full, and because they needed her help with their own scavenging if she was going to be staying with them. After leaving their care, she got herself a bolthole in Midcity, near her old home, and built her own life.

Personality:
Caitrin is a kind sort, offering to give her aid to her friends any time they need her, and willing to help out strangers (though she's more cautious about that, since she doesn't want to end up getting mugged or worse). She partly blames herself for her parent's death, because she wasn't 'hybrid enough' to assure them a place in the safety of the Toride, but she lays most of the blame on the Ministry for their strict standards, and for that reason, she refuses to take part in their Hybridization process. She'll either be taken as-is, or not at all. Despite these feelings, however, Caitrin believes that she must help those who need her, even if it were a diehard Minister who was injured. She wouldn't like it... in fact, it might make her feel sick while she was giving him or her care, but she believes that not refusing to aid makes her a better person than someone who judges a person based purely on how hybrid they are.

Weapons/Equipment:
No actual weapons, though her salvaged scalpel could be used as one in a pinch. She has a pouch that she keeps as her dedicated first aid kit, containing the bandages, medication, and medical tools she's managed to get her hands on, with any spillover being kept in a secure footlocker in her residence.
