Character Name: Bapsef
Age: 16
Sex: Female
Species: Egyptian Mau
Height/Weight: 5'3" / 110lb
Social Status: Outer Class
Physical Description: A slight build, that of one who has lost weight and stayed in a sinewy, capable stage barely above too-thin and large glassy eyes which seem always open wide with wonder make this feline look younger than her true age. Those wide yellow-green eyes are shockingly bright against the soft grays of her fur. Atop her "bald" skull are intricate markings and no hair or long fur, along with a small metal plate. She is lanky, and her arms seem quite long, an image exacerbated by the lack of meat on her. She obsessively grooms what fur she can reach, and it usually lies flat, though is not necessarily clean. Despite the emotions which swirl in her eyes, often wonder or confusion, fascination and certainty, a smile is rarely found on her muzzle. She seems stingy with expressions of joy, and appears extremely internalized.
Her clothing is sparse, though she now wears more layers and seems to venture to the surface more often than she used to. Rather than having any particularly warm articles, she instead tends to have ragtag layers which barely manage to cover her; a sleeve from this coat, a synth-fur-lined hood, a once-colorful wrap around her torso.
Her prosthetics are seemingly rusty, made mostly of inefficient synth-metal (lightweight, though low tech). Her leg and tail are made in this manner; the plate in her head is made of the same material. But there now seems to be a small flower--a lotus?--carved into the middle of it.
Background: Once, Bapsef was an orphan and she had orphan friends and they all thought they were at the top of the world. Then, Bapsef had felt an adult among children. But now she is the Child, and she is no longer an orphan, but has a Mother who is more than any child could ever hope for. It isn't that she's forgotten her past, or her friends-- she is believed dead by Jody Ketch, for instnace-- but her goals are different.
Her view is expanded, though she sees it more as a new opportunity to learn.
The mau's story now diverges from those of other hopeless orphans. She seems to have shed the delusions she once had of being mature, and allows herself now to be formed anew and grow up again without the petty structures of desperate dirty creatures scrabbling to make something of themselves in the Undercity. This makes it difficult to guess her age and what exactly her goals are, though her origins are as mundane as any Outerclasser orphan's.
Personality: Bapsef was once matter of fact, sharp, mature and big sisterly. Some of these traits come forward at times, but since the accident that took her limbs and the subsequent uniting with The Underqueen, her Mother, her personality seems to have changed dramatically. Her approach to her life would seem religious, if she had any idea what religion was. She barely seems to understand rules and rhetoric and argument, and in this way may appear simple. Nonetheless, she is quite keen when not self-absorbed and rendered stupid (or enlightened?) with wonderment.
She rarely ever smiles, though apparently not for lack of anything to be joyous about. What seems at first to be shyness is careful observation. Her speech is halted, and seems perhaps to hint at a spacey or airheaded attitude caused by a head injury. She asks questions with answers too simple and mundane, or questions which don't make sense. She doesn't like to close her eyes.
Weapons/Equipment:
-Head plate with lotus carved into it.
-"Symbol"-- what appears to be a plain rusted metal lighter.
-Prosthetic leg. Rusty and made of constantly-changing parts. It seems to serve her well, nonetheless and allows her some of her cat's grace.
-Prosthetic tail half. Same as her leg.
-Lantern. Apparently an attempt at an "efficient" design. Its manners of light are often replaced and range in type.
-Pouches with various trinkets.
