Player: Nikolai

Character Name: Ayden Kishmir

Age: 20

Sex: Male

Species: Corvid (Or "Treejay", Rufous Treepie / Blue Jay mix.)

Height/Weight: 5'0" & 120 lbs.

Social Status: Outer Class

Physical Description: Ayden has a unique feather pattern due to his genetics. Grey and black feather pattern with specks of blue on his head, and a varied black streak which runs across his eyes and back to the edge of the small upward crest of feathers on his head. His front is a dirty mix of brown and white feathers, his back a dark brown with a white and blue strip running down the middle. His wings and tail feathers are gone due to violence directed toward him as a child leaving nothing but indents in his plumage where his wings and tail once were. His legs are a dark brown, fading to black. He also has black lower legs and feet with small, yet sharp claws. He generally wears a jacket that he's had for years. He's kept it since just after his forced amputations of his wings and tail, and so it has many patches and some new rips which he fixes when he can. He also wears a thick pair of pants and tough boots to keep his feet warm.

Background: Ayden was born to two parents who were hoping to become UniClass citizens through bearing a child. They were not keen on becoming some new species, and feared any genetic alterations, but they hoped that rumors of child-bearing based decisions were still being made. Unfortunately, they were too hopeful, and blinded by false information. His father, a Rufous Treepie and his mother, a Blue jay, were turned away after his birth, due to them both being within the same Familae taxonomy - still a same-species couple, according to the Ministry. (Ayden later found out this claim, one made by his father, was false. Though the event may have been a severe, unexplained, hallucination. Either way, he now believes it was due to his family's religious past).

His father turned to alcoholism, and his mother slowly died of depression and sickness. Around the age of ten, Ayden was walking the streets, trying to find his way home after his father had dragged him to a bar and had proceeded to drink himself to unconsciousness. A few of his father's friends told Ayden to go home and they would take care of it. The Avian assumed his father was a goner. On his way home, he was attacked by a gang of purebred wolves who harassed him and kicked him around for a while, hating him for being a bird, an avian. Whether they mistook him for a member of another gang, or if they hated him due to racism is something he still wonders about today. They dragged him to the basement of an old abandoned warehouse, and took his clothes from him. They tied him to a table and removed his wings and tail with a dull knife. They burned his own body parts in front of him in a barrel and left him for dead. He lay there, dying, until, luckily, an hour later; a kindly old vixen found him and rescued him. She cared for him until his wounds healed.
She left one day, without reason or notice, leaving him nothing but the jacket he wears now today, some mushroom spores, and a note that simply described how to care for the mushrooms. Ayden took what he could, and has, to this day, been a solo survivor. Along the way he’s picked up some primitive mechanical and technological skills. He’ s been tinkering with robots he’ s found in the under-city, and living in a mid-city Apartment With Noir, who fabricates and fixes electronics, though he has been known to sleep elsewhere. There he grows enough to supplement his survival using old lamps to keep his mushroom stock warm.
Ayden used to want out of Einheit. He used to hate living in the city. One night when he unwittingly broke into Meltharas's apartment, he found himself face to face with death. The man who nearly killed him was the one who probably saved his life. After that night, after he realized that he could have been mislead by his father's words and his own anger, he grew less bitter toward the Uniclass and the Ministry.
Not too long after that, he befriended a Hybrid by the name of Czeska, a young convert to the Uniclass who only continued to further his positive, rather than negative feelings about the Hybrids. Even after a frightening encounter with a Minister for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, he still maintained a more positive view. It wasn't until he began to hallucinate and dream that he eventually discovered, or so he believes, what really happened.

In the weeks he was having his hallucinations and schizophrenic fits, all brought on by what seemed like nothing, he "discovered" the truth. The avian wandered his way deep into the Undercity where he had a revelation of sorts. Ayden believes, though it all could have been nothing but hallucination, that he saw his father. The elderly man died despite, even if it was a strong hallucination, which after days of traveling with little food or water, it very well may have been, though Ayden doesn't think so. Now the bird believes he knows his true past, which has some bearing in the truth.
Presently, Ayden's feelings toward the ministry are positive. He believes in helping those around him achieve Uniclass status, though his own beliefs keep him from applying himself. The avian is afraid, if not just unable to give up his beliefs in something more than 'just this life'. He keeps it to himself, and he doesn't speak of it often, if at all. It is that, and his drive to help others in the outer class that keeps him from becoming a Hybrid. .

Personality: Despite his hard past, Ayden has always kept an up-beat attitude toward life. He's prided himself on his self-sufficiency and his independence as well. He wants to help those around him as well, to help the purebreds as he was once helped. He was hurt too, but his forgiving nature, and sympathy for the purebreds, is enough to keep him going. He stays as invisible as possible, and does good things silently so people are unaware of his activity. Of course, he does it without regard for his own well-being. He is positive toward the Uniclass, and actually enjoys the company of a hybrid who is willing to get over the divide to actually speak to him.
